Here are some of the more common questions we’re asked about our proposal.
Why was this site chosen?
Proper overburden management is essential not just for quarrying operations but also for minimising environmental impact and ensuring the site's sustainability. Placing overburden close to a quarry ensures the environmental impacts (dust and noise) and greenhouse gas emissions emitted from transportation of overburden is reduced.
What will the land be use for after works are complete?
The land will be progressively rehabilitated over the next 40 years as the overburden placement activity occurs. This will enable the parts of land we are no longer using to integrate with the environment.
What will happen to the native flora and fauna?
Our Environmental team together with experts will take utter most care to ensure fauna are not harmed during the vegetation removal process.
As part of the enabling works, prior to vegetation removal, we will undertake lizard salvage to safely relocate them to another area.
